SEMOSportsOne strives to combine the best elements of our predecessor, SEMOSportsWeb, along with new information and fresh ideas. As always, comments and suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.
Our humble beginnings
SEMOSportsOne debuted in 2019 as a resource for sports information, history, and exchange of opinion across Southeast Missouri. We pride ourselves in free, independent, and unique content and opinion. This site is a continuation of SEMOSportsWeb, which was the region's first all-sports website and served the area from September 2006 to May 2012.
Information represented here is believed to be correct at the time of posting. Opinions reflected within this site and affiliates represent individual commentators as credited and not the owners of this website.
Historical information presented throughout this site has been compiled from a variety of resources that have proven to be reliable and accurate. Among them are Al Jackson of Hayti, Jim Healey of Saint Louis, Matt Chaney of Poplar Bluff, various print and online media outlets, MSHSAA archives, and countless coaches, participants, and fans. Our website and the information herein is possible because of these individuals.
Our mission statement
SEMOSportsOne is dedicated to advancing and promoting sports, competitive events, and participants at all levels throughout Southeast Missouri; to working with and respecting athletes, fans, advertisers, and colleagues; and to providing a free and easily accessible forum for opinion and exchange of ideas. The actions of our company and our company's representatives will at all times reflect those values.
Our coverage area
Our coverage area is the most inclusive of any information source in Southeast Missouri and stretches across parts of 24 counties. The counties in our region are Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Carter, Dent, Dunklin, Iron, Jefferson, Madison, Mississippi, New Madrid, Oregon, Pemiscot, Perry, Reynolds, Ripley, Saint Francois, Sainte Genevieve, Scott, Shannon, Stoddard, Texas, Washington, and Wayne. Our region stretches more than 150 miles from east to west, and almost 200 miles north to south.
Our region includes more than 90 active high schools, both public and private, as far north as Windsor, west to Summersville, and bordered to the east and south by the Missouri state line.
Our inclusivity standards
SEMOSportsOne strives for equal representation of and fair treatment toward all schools, teams, athletes, and participants in Southeast Missouri and at no time will demonstrate or tolerate bias on the basis of race, creed, color, sexual orientation, national origin, or gender identity.
